The Komoka Kings are pleased to announce the re-signing of 2008-born forward Lucas Van Steensel for the 2026-27 season.
Van Steensel enters his second season in the GOHL after joining the Kings last season. As a rookie, he put up eight goals and 12 assists for 20 points in 47 games played. In his first year, he had four multi-point games, highlighted by a two-goal, two-assist performance on January 9th in Caledon.
Van Steensel was selected by the North Bay Battalion in the 8th round, 158th overall, in the 2024 OHL Priority Selection. Prior to that, he was a member of the Elgin-Middlesex Canucks, where he was a key contributor to their 2024-25 U18 Alliance Championship.
The Kings look forward to Lucas’ return to the lineup and an exciting season ahead.
