Kings Add OHL-Drafted Goalie Brian Rathwell

The Komoka Kings are pleased to announce the signing of 2009-born goaltender Brian Rathwell for the 2026-27 season.

Rathwell is entering his second season of junior hockey after being selected by the Saginaw Spirit in the 6th round, 115th overall, in the 2025 OHL Draft. He spent last season with the Kirkland Lake Gold Miners of the NOJHL, posting an .873 save percentage in 20 GP.

A native of Pembroke, ON, he spent his minor hockey days with the Ottawa Valley Titans of HEO. In his U16 season, he had a 15-0 regular season and strong playoff numbers, before posting a .946 save percentage at the OHL Cup. He was the backbone of a Titans team that won the HEO title and had 10 players drafted to the OHL.

Listed at 6’6, 216 pounds, Rathwell provides an imposing physical presence in goal.

The Kings look forward to the 2026-27 season getting underway this September, with training camp and preseason action beginning in August.
