The Komoka Kings are pleased to announce that 2007-born forward Ben Funston has re-signed with the club for the 2025-2026 season.
Funston, a Komoka native, is entering his second season in the GOJHL. Funston began his rookie year with the Strathroy Rockets, and was part of a December 20th trade to Komoka, in exchange for Justin Skirten. Prior to the trade, he had three goals and two assists for five points in 27 games. As a King, Funston elevated his game – scoring five goals and adding four assists for nine points in 19 games.
The hard-nosed 5’11/177-pound forward played significant time on the power play and penalty kill in Komoka, allowing him to grow his game. Prior to playing in the league, he was a member of the Elgin-Middlesex Canucks U18 team, where he played with two of his current Kings teammates and under Kings Assistant GM Adam Simpson.

The Kings look forward to Ben’s impact in the lineup once again this year.
