On the heels of an exciting 5-3 win for the Komoka Kings over St. Thomas on home ice came a two-game road swing just days later.

First, Komoka was on the road to LaSalle to face the Vipers, the team that bested them at the Wellness Centre in the Kings season opener.

Wednesday night, it was a different story.

While Tristan Kitchen got the game’s first goal for the home Vipers at just 2:18, Komoka responded with gusto. Mathias Prud’homme Foster capitalized on an O-zone turnover to tie the game. It was then Gavin Yoo ripping home his first moving in from the blueline.

The Yoo marker made it 2-1 Kings after the first.

Explosive Middle Frame

The second period was one dominated by the Kings. They outscored the Vipers 3-1, burying the tallies on just nine shots on on net.

Naturally, a rush chance was finished off by Morgan Paine to make it 4-1 just minutes into the stanza.

Tristan Witmer and Christopher Morgan also added goals for Komoka. Topped off by an empty-net goal from Brody Najim, this was a night to remember in Komoka. 6-3 was the final.

Tight Defeat Friday in St. Catherine’s

Two days later it was on the road again. The Kings travelled to faceoff against the St. Catherines Falcons. Komoka took just one penalty in the game to the Falcons’ four and kept the game within one goal until late.

Evan Miller got his second in three games, and scoring his first of the season was Nathaniel Rose.

An empty-net goal gifted the strong Falcons team just a 4-2 win over Komoka. The ‘W’ moves St. Catherine’s to 8-1 on the season.

The 4-5 Kings will next have a chance to get back to .500 when they host the St. Marys Lincolns Sunday afternoon.
