The Komoka Kings are pleased to announce that the club has re-signed 2008-born defenceman Tyson Ackerman for the 2026-27 season.
Ackerman spent last year with the Kings, where the former Saginaw Spirit 12th round pick put up seven goals and seven assists for 14 points. He had a career high 2-1-3 in a January 15th game in Sarnia. Ackerman also suited up in four games for Saginaw last season, logging an assist for his first career OHL point.
Prior to joining the Kings, Ackerman played for the Elgin-Middlesex Canucks. At the U18 level in 2024-25, he posted 6-21-27 in 31 games played, helping the Canucks to an Alliance Championship and Telus Cup bronze medal.
This preseason, Ackerman has found the scoresheet in every game he’s played, notching one goal and five assists for six points in four games.
The Kings look forward to Tyson’s impact in the lineup once again this season.
